Building on the success of its existing partnership with Amazon, Broccolini has been mandated with the construction of another project for the e-commerce giant – a brand-new 363,000-sq.ft. industrial building in the strategically located borough of Lachine. This building will be part of Amazon’s Logistics (AMZL) network and will deliver packages over the “Last Mile” to their final destination. 

After purchasing the land in 2020, Broccolini proceeded with extensive demolition and soil remediation work to prepare the site for future construction. In January 2021, Broccolini Real Estate Group and Broccolini Construction were awarded the contracts to act as Development Manager and General Contractor respectively for the construction of the new facility. 

The building will feature 15 loading docks, extensive interior parking, including 60 loading spaces and 60 queuing spaces for the tenant’s delivery vans, as well as a state-of-the-art package processing area. This facility will receive packages from Amazon Fulfillment and Sortation Centres, and then load them into local delivery vans for delivery to their final destination.

The new AMZL facility is slated to open before the end of 2021, at which point Broccolini Property Management will welcome their new tenant, Amazon.
